Grief & Loss Counseling

When Life Feels Different Than It Used To

Whether you have lost a loved one, experienced a miscarriage, ended a significant relationship, received a difficult diagnosis, or watched life unfold differently than you expected, grief can affect every part of your life.

Grief often involves learning how to hold two things at the same time: the reality that someone or something is gone, and the continued presence of what they meant to you.

Many people come to therapy wondering why they are still struggling months or years later. They may feel overwhelmed by sadness, guilt, anger, numbness, loneliness, or a sense that a part of them has been permanently changed.

Grief affects more than emotions. It can impact sleep, concentration, motivation, relationships, and your nervous system's ability to feel safe and grounded. You may find yourself stuck between wanting to move forward and feeling afraid that doing so means leaving something important behind.

Therapy provides a space to process your loss, make sense of the emotions that come with it, and learn how to carry your grief without it carrying you.

Together, we can work to:
• Process complicated emotions related to loss
• Reduce feelings of guilt, shame, or self-blame
• Navigate major life changes after a loss
• Reconnect with meaning and purpose
• Improve emotional regulation and coping skills
• Honor your loss while continuing to move forward

Healing does not mean forgetting. It means learning how to live fully while carrying the experiences that have shaped you.
