You may feel on alert even during calm moments constantly preparing for something to go wrong. You might struggle to trust your own decisions or feel guilty for resting. The world can feel unpredictable and your brain stays busy trying to control what it can so you don’t get blindsided.
This is exhausting but it is also understandable. It is how a brain learns to cope when it has been pushed beyond capacity for too long.
How I Help with Anxiety
Many people feel ashamed of their anxiety. Our culture praises independence and staying strong which often teaches people to hide their fear and power through it alone. You may laugh off your anxiety or call yourself “dramatic” because that feels easier than admitting how hard it has been.
