Helping people slow down enough to understand themselves with compassion instead of staying stuck in survival mode
Meet Your Therapist
Hi I’m Rylee,
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
who believes therapy should feel like a place where you can truly be yourself, and if you aren’t sure who that is yet or what that looks like, I got you.
My own experiences with mental health are part of what led me to this work and shaped my passion for creating a healthier, more compassionate, and less stigmatized relationship with mental health. I want therapy to feel approachable and human, a place where you can show up exactly as you are.
In my counseling room, we make space for all parts of being human. That might look like processing painful experiences, exploring emotions that feel overwhelming, celebrating growth, laughing about something that happened during your week, or having those moments where you suddenly understand yourself in a new way.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of healing (research consistently confirm that the therapeutic relationship is the single strongest, most reliable predictor of therapy success).
My Approach
→ EMDR Therapy
Sometimes the hardest part of healing is that our brain understands one thing, but our body still believes another.
You may know you are safe, but still feel on edge. You may know you are loved, but still carry the belief that you are not enough. These beliefs often come from experiences that shaped the way you learned to protect yourself.
EMDR helps your brain reprocess experiences that feel stuck and update the beliefs you carry about yourself. When painful experiences overwhelm the brain, the amygdala (your threat detection system) can stay activated, making the past feel present.
This work helps your brain and nervous system recognize safety, creating space for more self-trust, confidence, and healing.
→ Trauma-Focused Therapy
Seeing therapy through a trauma lens means we look beyond the behavior and ask, “What happened that made this response necessary?”
Many of the things we struggle with today; people-pleasing, shutting down, perfectionism, anxiety, avoiding emotions, or feeling disconnected…are not signs that something is wrong with you. Often, these patterns developed because they helped you survive, cope, or feel safe at some point in your life.
Even when we are ready to move past these patterns, it can feel frustrating when they continue showing up. Together, we work to understand where these responses came from, build compassion for the parts of yourself that learned to protect you, and create new ways of responding that fit the life you want now.
I don’t believe we are defined by what has happened to us. I believe we are shaped by our experiences, our relationships, and the ways we have learned to navigate the world. Healing begins when we can understand ourselves with compassion instead of shame.
→ A Relationship-Centered Approach
I believe the relationship we build in therapy matters. You are not just a diagnosis, a symptom, or a story about what happened to you.
You are a person with a history, strengths, hopes, and the ability to heal. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and able to be fully yourself, or a space where getting to know yourself again feels possible.
